What is VAST?

The Viewer Access Satellite Television service (VAST) provides Australia with free to air digital television and radio access in remote and black spot areas. This covers a minimum of 16 TV channels and 14 radio channels — the usual big broadcasters like 7, 9, 10, ABC and SBS — and includes an exclusive channel for local news content from regional broadcasters to give you the latest information based on your location in Australia. 

If you don’t own Foxtel or another cable box, VAST satellite TV allows you to access the channels you normally watch on TV at home wherever you are in Australia. To use our marine or caravan satellite systems, you will need to own and connect a VAST receiver. 

Simple and straightforward

When you want to watch satellite TV, it shouldn’t be a hassle. After a long day spent enjoying the outdoors, you want to sit back, relax and do nothing. Trying to work out why your antenna won’t turn on or how to pick up a strong enough signal is a struggle you don’t need.
